Nevin Hurst has been an art market stalwart for over 50 years, but now the time has come to close the gallery which has been the go-to destination for exceptional Australian Colonial and Impressionist art. Nevin will continue to advise clients privately, but Masterpiece Fine Art Gallery will close soon after this auction.
The final auction features many fine works, including this masterly John Glover (1767-1849) capriccio landscape in the classical tradition, painted in Tasmania after sketches from his 1818 ‘Grand Tour’, now held in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
The public viewing takes place from Thursday 27th May through to Sunday May 30th at 11am to 5pm daily at Masterpiece Gallery at 4/19A Hunter Street Hobart, Tasmania, the auction is available online now at www.artmarketspace.com.
The auction is being held Sunday 30th May online at artmarketspace.com at 5:00pm AEST.
