A child prodigy, Anne Marie Graham was born in Vienna in 1925 and studied under renowned teacher Professor Cizek as pre-war horrors started to engulf Europe. Arriving in Melbourne aged 14 with her family in 1939, she made an early vow to only paint the joy that she saw in the world, an empathetic humanitarian vision that continues to this day. Grahams paintings are marked by a depth of perception which extends far beyond mere surface representation. They evoke a wonderful sense of discovery, the sense of encountering and exploring a fantastic and exotic landscape for the very first time.

Anne Marie Graham is represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria, Victorian Arts Centre, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Art Gallery of South Australia, the McClelland Gallery+Sculpture Park and Geelong Art Gallery; and many notable private and corporate collections including The Janet Holmes à Court Collection and the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, USA. She has held over 70 solo exhibitions since 1957 and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Australia and overseas.
